today i found two pairs of shutters set out for big item pickup day. i hung them in the kitchen to keep out the hot morning sun which likes to hit those windows between eight o’clock and noon in august.
i was proud of this for several reasons. first, i had wanted to do this for some time but i didn’t want to spend the money on shutters. second, i had to repair one shutter to finish it, and i succeeded. third, my mother and father did this for years at their apartment, and it was a way to emulate them.
last, it made bonnie and i take stock of how important it is for little pook to imitate her parents, so it is important that we think well of ourselves so she can think well of herself.
